After almost four years of covering local search and conducting unique user research, we’ve been encouraged by all your positive feedback. But we need to generate more reliable and consistent revenue to keep this going – and we hope you'll help us.
Here’s what we’ve decided to do:
- The Near Media newsletter and majority of new analysis content will move behind a paywall. To continue receiving our content, we're asking for $20 per month or $200 per year.
- For paying subscribers we’ll also host monthly “office hours”: tactical Q&A and discussion on critical topics of interest to local marketers.
- The podcast will remain “free” and we’ll selectively accept sponsors.
Our new (paid) content plan will go live on December 1.
A couple of weeks ago we proposed a $2,500 research and content package. We were hoping for 100 commitments. Many people responded positively but we still fell well short of our goal. We’re still considering other value-added offerings that are TBD.
For those interested in our unique behavioral search-user research and SEO consulting, we’ll continue to do those projects, as demand arises.
